Dear Parents:
Overwhelmingly, schools are safe and nurturing places for students, and school leaders and faculty are dedicated to making sure schools remain safe learning environments for all students. However, bullying is a serious issue that every school in the nation faces. Nationwide, research shows that more than half of all school-aged children will be involved in bullying this year as a victim or a perpetrator with many more witnessing bullying acts on a regular basis.
Corbett Cheer Club believes in working together with parents to combat bullying. We know this problem isn’t confined to school grounds. Bullying at school affects and is affected by what happens at home between siblings, what happens in the neighborhood, and what happens when kids go online. We must work together to take immediate action, whether a child bullies, is a victim of bullying, or is a witness to bullying.
Corbett Cheer Club has started and Anti-bullying Campaign and we are raising money to bring Rachel's Challenge to our school. One fundraiser we are starting is our Corbett Cheer Club Anti-bullying Calendar. Corbett Cheer Club brought the Cheerleaders and the other school sports teams together during a photo shoot. This turned out to be such an amazing day for everyone and showed unity and friendship between the different teams. The pictures from this photo shoot will be displayed inside of the calendar, along with local businesses information. We will be selling the calendars to parents and our community to raise money towards Rachel's Challenge.
For a $100 donation, we will advertise a business in our calendar. We will place the businesses picture and business information in one month of the calendar. The business will be the only one advertised in that month! If there are any specials or events going on within that business, we will gladly put those in the calendar as well. Once we have 12 businesses on board, we will be able to order the calendars and start selling them. All proceeds from the calendar sales will go towards our fund to bring Rachel's Challenge to Corbett.
We are hoping you will support us in our journey to educate our children on the effects of bullying! We are very excited to bring awareness to the Corbett School district, but we need everyone's help! Please spread the word to everyone.
