This past month there were 3 traffic fatalities on roadways in our area. A motorcyclist was struck head-on on Gordon Creek Road after a large pickup with an alleged drunk driver veered into the oncoming lane. The motocyclist was killed instantly.

A second crash occurred near I84 and the Sandy River. This was a single vehicle crash with three young adults. Two of the three occupants died in this crash. One of the occupants was a relative or our family friend.

A rollover crash occurred on Louden Road where the driver received minor injuries. This was the 2nd rollover crash that I personally reponded to in this area. In both cases the drivers' wheels caught the edge of the asphalt. Both driver's incorrectly jerked the wheel hard to get back on the roadway, causing them to "fish-tail" and lose control. If your tire is pulled over the edge of the asphalt, you should instead, slow down and turn the wheel gradually back onto the asphalt.

Another crash occurred at the Big Bear Market when a vehicle backing out of the lot failed to yield to a car on the roadway. At least 2 were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Other similar crashes have occurred here as well.
