Hello Corbett Citizens and Affiliates,

I’ve attached the February Corbett Crime Log.  This month a citizen tip led to the arrest of one man and a likely warrant issuance for a 2nd man.  A citizen saw two suspicious men loading items into a pickup and trailer on a foreclosed property.  They were wearing orange construction style t-shirts and sweatshirts.  When the deputy contacted the suspects, they were both  polite and cooperative; saying they were hired by the bank to help clean out foreclosed properties for the new owners.

However, after further questioning their story began to fall apart.  One man had a burglary warrant and was arrested.  The 2nd man had to be released because a victim could not be readily located. However, the next day a victim was identified and he verified that the property was stolen.   A request has been made to the District Attorney for the issuance of an arrest warrant on the 2nd man.  I later spoke w/ neighbors in the area who saw these same men driving up different driveways earlier in the week.  Although it was odd, the orange "flagger" vests in the rear window made the suspects  appear official in some way and the witnesses were reluctant to call it in.  So tip of the day....please call us! It just might be worth reporting!

Some of our Citizen Patrol members observed some suspicious activity in the gorge a few weeks ago.  They got a vehicle and driver description and forwarded it to a patrol deputy.  It turned out that this man was part of a "car prowl" ring that was operating in the gorge.  One of the ring members was recently arrested and there is a warrant for another man.  Good Job Citizen Patrol!
