Jim Scudder's Funeral Service and following Celebration of Life

Hello Corbett Residents and Affiliates,

For any Corbett residents that knew Jim Scudder….our local WWII bombardier vet. Jim Scudder passed away Monday evening at Mt. Hood Medical Center ( 11/16/09 ) He was fine last week at the Veterans’ breakfast at the high school, however he contracted pneumonia over the weekend and he just couldn’t fight through it.

He was loved by many and lit up the room with his presence and charm. I think I caught him speeding at least once and I was lucky enough to have his cell phone number so I could call him and tell him to slow down! He was a decorated bombardier and flew for a general during the war. His wife and family will have some photos and other memorabilia available after the funeral so everyone can remember ol’ Jim.

Here is the info for his service and following celebration of his life:

The service will be held at Willamette National Cemetry ( 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. Portland, OR 97086-6937. Phone: 503-273-5250. I’m told there will be a gun salute in his honor. Attendees should check in at the main office to find the exact location at the cemetery for the service. The service will only last 30 minutes. ) Tuesday 11/24 at 11:00 AM ... And a celebration of life to be at the Corbett Grange. 11/24 at 12:30 pm. Potluck. Both are open to everyone who was touched by Jim.
