Halloween at Vista House ( 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM )

Hello!

We will be hosting trick-or-treaters on Halloween this year at Vista House between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM. As you know, we usually have staff and volunteers from Citizen Patrol on hand to protect the building from vandalism. This year, we figured we hand out candy while we are there!

WHAT: Handing out candy to Trick-or-Treaters
WHERE: Vista House Rotunda, South Door Entry
WHEN: Halloween. 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
WHY: To build community relationships
HOW: OPRD has purchased candy, will supply low-key decorations, and will coordinate passing out candy.

OTHER: The building will be advertised as being closed—the idea is that trick-or-treaters come to the south entrance door. We will have the cart and chair with a bucket of candy near the door. We will keep the balcony, store, espresso bar, and recognition hall all CLOSED all night. Visitors will be allowed to use the restrooms if needed. The focus will be on trick-or-treating rather than our usual daily visitor services.

This is a trial year, so after we will be collecting feedback to assist in planning next year. We have also done little to no marketing for the event this year—your help in spreading the word is welcome. A flyer is attached.
