Corbett Community Night Out has been moved from the standard first Tuesday of August to Friday the 5th in the hopes of making it easier for more of our Community to attend!

Members of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office will be here putting on demonstrations and getting to know our town, and this year there will be what we're calling the "Spin and Win" wheel at their table.  Stop in, say hi to the Deputies and try your luck at a prize.  Don't forget to check out the Search and Rescue crews and their boats and equipment while you're here.
Multnomah County will be seeing a changing of the Sheriff on the 15th of August with the current Sheriff retiring and Undersheriff Reese stepping into the position.  Undersheriff Reese will be dropping by on the 5th so please come and take a minute to say "hi" and welcome him to our area.

Our own Fire District #14 will be demonstrating some of their life-saving skills and I'd like to mention they will also have a booth this year!  I'm sure you've all noticed the "Protect Your Dream" signs around town and know they are busy not only helping protect our Community and those who visit us, but also busy looking for more people who are interested and would like to join their team.  Come by, talk with your neighbors about what makes this such a great opportunity and if you haven't met Fire Chief Dave Flood, take a moment to say hi to him too Smiley

Life Flight is currently scheduled to arrive at 5:30 so if you want to have a chance to see what that helicopter looks like up close and chat with those who run it and take care of you when you need them, come early!

We've been putting together some games for the kids (and the not so kids) this year and we're calling it our "pilot" project.  Meaning.... it may or may not go as smoothly as we'd like, but we'll learn from it this year and make changes as needed.  So, with that disclaimer in mind, there will be a water balloon toss, bean bag toss game, big bubble challenge, bubble wand play area and possibly a couple of games of HORSE around the basketball hoops.  The goal is to "meet and mingle" with those who live in our Community, and those who help keep us safe so this is all for Fun!

MCSO Deputy Jessie Voelker has done an amazing amount of work to make this an enjoyable time for all and has also invited:  US Army, Navy, Marine Corp, Costco and the Port of Portland.  Rumor has it they will have things at their booths for those who stop by and see them. Smiley

NEMCCA is sponsoring this event, and we'd like to give a huge THANK-YOU to all who are helping to make it possible.  MCSO, Fire District #14, Helping Hands, Jeri Yoder,  Multnomah Falls Lodge and Nolan's Point S Tire Factory.

If this is something that you enjoy and would like us to be able to continue to do, we'd really appreciate a small donation towards the cost. Smiley  We are also looking for anyone interested in hosting a table to highlight your local business.  $10 cost for the table that will help cover the cost of insurance!
