The nonprofit Friends of the Multnomah County Library will hold its spring used book sale April 26-27 at the Gresham Town Fair shopping center in the former Hollywood Video store, 670 NW Eastman Parkway. The sale site is west of the Gresham Regional Library on Northwest Miller Avenue. This spring sale offers an estimated 20,000 good used books and audio-visual materials. Proceeds go to support public library programs. Most adult books are $1.50, pocketbooks are 50 cents and children’s books start at 50 cents. On Sunday, everything will be half price.
Public hours will be 11 am to 6 pm Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm Sunday. From 9 to 11 am Saturday, the sale will be open to members only -- but memberships may be purchased at the door. Friends’ annual memberships are $30 for individuals. Other fee categories are available.
Policy note : No scanners or other electronic devices to seek book information will be allowed during the two members-only hours. Devices will be allowed for the rest of the sale, but they may be used only at the merchandise tables and only on one item at a time. Items may not be set aside to be scanned later.
