The Superintendent of Reynolds School District wrote her dissertation (for her phD) on how to run a successful Bond Campaign. It's nearly 500 pages, so I doubt most people will read this, but I want to post a link to it anyway. There is amazing insight in this paper. Most notable to me (so far) is her assertion that District leadership would ideally have experience in Bond passage/campaigns. (Note that CSD administrators aren't even experienced in administrating let alone running a Bond Campaign.) She also mentions that it is essential to have the buy-in of the District Administration and ALL Board Members. These points seem to be a non-negotiable for a successful bond campaign. Anyway, if you have any interest, here is a link to Linda Florences' pretty amazing study in Successful School District Bond Campaigns. Maybe one day, Corbett will have leadership that is disciplined, experienced, and insightful enough to understand the gravity of our need for open communication, honesty, and success. None of those things being something that can be "faked." Enjoy, Corbett nerds! And if you have interest, get involved with helping Reynolds get their well-constructed Bond initiative passed!
