The Sheriff's Office has been working with some local volunteers and "Friends of the Sandy River Delta". They have donated a lot of time and work in the garbage clean up at the Sandy River Delta (aka 1000 Acres). This area is home to a local transient population. Crown Point Refuse donated a drop box . The area is much cleaner, however this will likely be on ongoing project.
You'll notice that most of the vehicle break-ins diminshed near the end of the month. This was , in part, due to the arrest of a prolific "car prowler" by a deputy. The deputy had been given a photo of a suspicious vehicle that had been taken by a Citizen Patrol volunteer several weeks earlier. The deputy contacted the suspect who was found to be in possesion of numerous stolen items. The supsect had broken into another car just before he was contacted.

The Multnomah County Office of Emergency Managment (OEM) has greatly assisted the Corbett community. They initially provided about $3500 in grant money to install a local Corbett based radio repeater. However, we were short about $600 for the purchase of the needed frequencies from the FCC. OEM was able to grant the funds to continue the project. It's hopeful that the new repeater will be operable by summer. This radio repeater will allow a much needed layer of communications to the area for events and potential disasters.
