We have all been saddened by the school and mall shootings this past month.  Our deputies have all been through "active shooter" training in the past and many "soft target" locations have been scouted-out by our personnel.  We are currently working with the Corbett School principal and the Job Corps to go over our security protocol and response plans.
A truck driver at the I84 viewpoint recently had his arm slashed by a knife-wielding man that had stopped to ask him for money.  The driver was ok but the suspect fled in a dark SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer.

The Job Corps donated $300 to the Citizen Patrol from their annual Holiday Dinner.  Thank you Job Corps!  We also thank the community for their support in purchasing baked items at the Grange Christmas Bazaar.  The items were baked by several of our Citizen Patrol volunteers and they raised just over $300!  All of this money will be saved and used towards to the licensing of 2 radio frequencies and ultimately a Corbett-based radio repeater.  This repeater will greatly assist in local communications during a disaster or other community based events.  Your donations will help make this happen!
The Sheriff's Office thanks Corbett resident Joe Coppoletta of Coppoletta Productions in the making of a 6-minute video about our Citizen Patrol.  If you've ever wondered how the Citizen Patrol helps the community, or if you've thought about volunteering or donating, then this video is for you!
