July is typically a very busy month for deputies with the influx of visitors to the area. So far 2 undercover "car prowl stings" have occurred. I'm aware of several arrests involving car prowls and it's sad to see all of the stolen property in the suspect's vehicle. In particular, a deputy stopped a stolen car near Lewis and Clark Park and the three occupants were arrested. The car contained numerous items from varying victim's throughout the area and Troutdale. These types of investigations are tedious and can take a deputy off the street for the remainder of his/her shift due to the follow-up investigation that's required. The Corbett National Night out went well and we even had a visit from Life Flight. We'd like to see more citizens at next year's event. It's generally held on the 1st Tuesday evening in August (8/6/13).
