What do the American Flag and Corbett Fire Department have in common with the 4th of July?

Seven of our Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Sammuel Adams, and John Jay, were volunteer firefighters. You may not be a Founding Father, but you can be a Corbett Volunteer Firefighter.

Applicants must live in the Corbett Fire Dist., be eighteen, have a valid driver’s license, fill out an application, and pass a physical agility test, as well as an oral interview. Men and women are urged to apply. Currently five of the twenty nine members are women. Note: Tessie Adams was selected as Oregon Volunteer Firefighter of the Year in 2017. Members range in age from the 20s to the 70s.

Prospective members are urged to attend an informational meeting at 7:00PM July 21, 2021, at the Corbett Station. Applications can be printed by going to corbettfire.com. Applications are due Aug 11, 2021. You can email us with questions from the web site.

Be part of a proud 72 year old tradition. Since 1998, seven Corbett Firefighters have been selected as Oregon Vol. Firefighter of the Year.
