Photo- Inherent Dangers of Police WorkA stolen car was found crashed near the Vista House. The suspect then departed the area
with two other men in another vehicle. A deputy located the subjects and conducted a traffic
stop. During the stop, the men repeatedly wanted to exit the car and/or have the deputy
approach to "get the key" that was used to start the stolen car. After the men were arrested
safely, numerous knives were found on their seats and the dashboard area.
The Citizen Patrol Needs You!If you'd like to act as an extra set of "eyes and ears" for law enforcement, then please contact
Deputy Graziano listed below. 6-hours per month is required. A county vehicle and monthly
trainings are provided.
Two Citizen Patrollers were patrolling the gorge when one of them saw a man break out a car
window. A deputy was nearby and stopped the suspect vehicle and arrested two men. A
search warrant was obtained and numerous stolen items were recovered from multiple victims
inside their car. At least one of the subjects was known to be a very prolific "car prowler".
The Sheriff's Office recommends that valuables should never be left inside your car or "hidden"
under a seat or in the trunk; windows can be quietly shattered and most door locks are easily
defeated with simple tools.
