August 2015 Crime Log and News

Sadly, the Sheriff's Office lost a friend and coworker, Eric Gustafson to an off-duty motorcycle crash.  His funeral service will be this Sunday 9/13/15 at 2PM at Mt. Hood Community College.

A residential burglary occurred along SE Gordon Creek Rd. near the Clackamas County line.  Service medals belonging to Jeff Lucas, a deceased Navy Seal, were stolen along with some other items.  No matter where you reside, if you see suspicious persons or vehicles please call either 911 or the 24-hour non-emergency # (503-823-3333) immediately; please don't wait to report it after the person has already left the area.  Deputies may already be close-by.  Even if deputies can't respond immediately, your timeliness in reporting does help.

Some thieves are very bold.  They may bring props or wear a "uniform" shirt or other official looking items while on your property.  In rural areas such as Corbett, this can give a thief access to your property with an immediate cover story if they encounter a land owner.  Don't hesitate to question persons on your property and ask for business licenses, photo IDs etc..  Call 911 or the non-emergency# immediately if you don't believe their story or if you feel unsafe.

The Sheriff's Office Citizen Patrol is seeking volunteers to conduct community patrols, school patrols, special details and to help locate "car prowlers" in the community.  The time commitment is 6-hours per month.  For further information contact Deputy Graziano or select here for our informational flyer: http://corbettoregon.com/news-and-events/citizen-patrol/
