Dear Friends,

Thanks to all of you who worked hard advocating with elected officials and recycling contractors on behalf of the Corbett community, recycling service will resume!  See details below:

RE: Recycling in Corbett: Good News!

Feb. 13, 2019

As per Multnomah County Planning Director Michael Cerbone, 12 Mile/Crown Point Refuse/Recycling will immediately start picking up and separating residential recycling (Blue Bin) again.
The company has also agreed to send out updated recycling information to every customer, possibly as an insert with the monthly bill - Not accurate per subsequent message from the County.

For recycling to become a success again in our community, and to support the haulers' work, please:
1. Separate - only corrugated cardboard, paper and metal in Blue Bin, with glass in separate paper bags placed next to Blue Bin
2. Only put clean recyclables into bins: free of food remnants, oil, or other contaminants

It is unclear what the current status of plastic recycling is (particularly #1 and #2): someone should contact the company and get updated information, and let us know.

Please observe whether the recyclables are properly processed by the haulers- either by using separate trucks or separate compartments on one truck.

Please pass this information on to your local neighbors and friends.
