Multnomah County Planning Commission seeks new members

Multnomah County’s Land Use Planning division is looking for two county residents who live in rural areas of Multnomah County, east of the cities of Gresham and Troutdale, to serve as volunteer members on the county’s Planning Commission.

The Multnomah County Planning Commission addresses rural land use planning issues to meet state planning requirements and policies set forth by the Multnomah County Board of County Commissioners that apply to the rural areas of the county.

The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for adoption, revision or repeal of components of the Comprehensive Framework Plan, zoning code and other regulatory ordinances intended to carry out the plan as adopted by the Board.

The Planning Commission meets on the first Monday of every month (except holidays) starting at 6:30 p.m.  Most meetings take place at the Multnomah Building, 501 SE Hawthorne Boulevard, in Portland. The commission consists of nine members who serve four-year terms and are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.

Applications are due April 16, 2013.  An application is available on Multnomah County’s website (https://multco.us/land-use-planning/planning-commissioner-application) or may be requested via email or US Mail by calling 503-988-3043, Ext. 22610 or emailing charles.beasley@multco.us.

For more information, please visit the Planning Commission’s webpage (http://web.multco.us/land-use-planning/planning-commission) or Multnomah County’s Land Use Planning website (http://web.multco.us/land-use-planning).
