Hello Corbett Residents and Affiliates,

In April, a citizen on Larch Mt. reported 2 men trespassing on her property. A pickup loaded with scrap metal was stuck in the mud on the owner's property. A foot chase ensued when deputies arrived. One of the suspects got away and later stole a parked vehicle and fled the scene. The other man was chased-down and caught by a new recruit deputy who happened to be a collegiate-level runner! The man with the stolen car was captured several days later after deputies followed-up on several leads.  A fatal collision occurred between a motorcyclist and another vehicle on E. Columbia River Highway in the curves near the Job Corps.  The Job Corps is hosting a "Soup Bowl Fundraiser" on Weds. 5/16 at 6PM to benefit the "Helping Hands" food program at the Grange Hall. The Grange was burglarized and vandalized a couple of months ago. Cost is $10 and you keep the bowl! RSVP to Asha- 503-695-2245 ext. 244. The Helping Hands program is a volunteer-run nonprofit program that assists seniors and the local community by providing food and other resources.   Their computer, a microwave, popcorn machine and refrigerator was stolen during the burglary. If you have an old computer and monitor that still works, they could definitely use it! Their phone# is 503-695-6674.

Thank you, Deputy Joe Graziano
