I have no beef with moles. Only mole hills. They have killed one of my lawn tractors, and have given me several sprained ankles. Is there any way to eliminate them? Can you calculate how many moles you have by the number of hills?

I have no idea - that would be an interesting question to ask the Mole Lady. My husband is a little "Bill Murray" in Caddyshack.... about the moles ...and his plans and traps. ( I tend to think if you get one, 20 come in to replace it. ) I don't know. Our yard looks like a field of mini volcanoes. It isn't pretty. If you find any answers - please share!

I am curious to find out how many people have a mole or moles in their freezer anxiously waiting for the 4th of July mole contest?!  And what does your mole weigh?

I just can't allow a dead mole in my freezer - though my boys keep putting the odd things in the freezer out in the garage - so at some point something I am not expecting will be in there ( maybe also something not expecting to be in there, too.. )

I am actually using this particular event as a GAUGE for when my husband will have truly gone around "THAT BEND". I mean how many people are actually removing the wee carcasses and then fitting them for their outfits for this July... that is what I need to know.... that happens!!!!

SERIOUS.

It's hard to tell exactly how many moles you have based on the number of mole hills. I've trapped them in areas that look like a battlezone and only gotten 3-4 and I've trapped them where there are just a few hills and gotten 6-7. The most I ever got off one place was 12 in a three-week period. But he had pretty close to an acre of land. The fastest I've ever caught a mole after setting a trap was roughly 45 seconds (I didn't have a stopwatch). But then I've set traps in active mole tunnels and never caught a single one.

The best way to trap a mole is with those Victor Out-O'-Sight style traps.
