There will be NO meeting in January since it is New Year's Day. Happy New Year's to everyone.

Mt Hood Community College: Would like to answer any questions people have on the recent reports in the paper. The Board is looking at how to best budget without impacting the students too much. The plan to do a 50/50 split between increased costs or reductions in offering is considered to be too impactful. (Would increase costs of a credit hour by $12) They have hired an agency to help with recommendations and analyze costs, there will be a briefing at the public meeting tonight on the 174 page report.
At the December meeting the board will most likely vote to allow students currently in the affected programs to finish (no students will be pushed out) and to increase credit hour costs by $8.
On January 1, 2020 there will be a change in accreditation standards, focusing more on student success. It is expected that the public will see changes similar to this in other Community Colleges.

Multnomah County Sheriff's Office: Informed delivery is available through the USPS so you can track your mail. https://informeddelivery.usps.com/…/pages/intro/start.action

County Commissioner District #4: First Thursday of the month meeting will be Dec. 5th from 6-8pm at the Gresham City Hall. This is a slightly different format with 30 agencies providing information on their agencies and how to access services.

Columbia Grange: Crafts Fair on Sunday from 10-4. Come meet local artists and do your Christmas shopping.

Corbett Water District: Thank you for the turn out at the November 19, 2019 meeting. This will be the first one over the course of several years.

ODOT: Hazard tree removal being done along the Old Scenic Highway from Troutdale to Stark. Preparing for winter.
HCRH Advisory meeting on Dec 12th from 10-2 at the Fire Hall. Agenda will include the final five mile design on the trail, congestion and transit issues, what happened this year and what does 2020 look like.
Oneonta - still looking at the safety scaling. Permits are going along with the County and may start rehab in September 2020.
Tree shreds are gone at Ainsworth.
Reaching out to Travel Oregon and the larger tour operators regarding the proposed length restrictions.

NEMCCA: Noticed the survey crews have been on upper Stark marking the dead trees, thank you Multnomah County. Also, thank you for the brush clearing on Louden. There has been a second crash at the corner above Donahue, this is the second in two weeks. (Discussion: The County has not been de-icing upper Larch, the crews tend to stop at Brower, or during the last icing, stopped at Haines. While it is appreciated that they de-ice upper Larch during "snow events", its the unexpected ice at that corner that catches people unaware. Studs are not a solution, icing also happens outside of legal stud dates, and since its not the "locals" that are being injured you can't expect everyone who is traveling in the area to have studs. Saying the trees are the issue also doesn't address the issue since there are more trees above the corner and there isn't ice there. Cutting 2,000 to 3,000 trees to open the roads to sunshine wouldn't address the issue. Accidents have been happening on the corner before the trees grew to current height. It would also be appreciated if the roads were plowed on weekends and non-school days. Waiting until Monday to plow and letting the ice build up on the roads isn't helping.
There is a tour being planned with the Roads Department and the County Commissioner's office to spotlight some of the issues in Corbett.
Thank you to MCSO for attending the Deputies and Decorations on the 21st. It was a lot of fun.
ODOT, reminder about the grass and mud that is blocking the water flow off the road from Corbett to Stark. Winter is coming.
Multnomah County Transportation came to the November NEMCCA Board meeting to discuss the update on the Latourell Bridge replacement and seek input. Concerns over the tour bus weights and the look of the bridge were discussed. Kevin Cook from MultCo Land Use brought information on the 2020 Workshop for the Planning Commission.
There should be a new Land Use Planning Director by the end of the month.
Tree lighting will be held December 7 from 7-9.

Oregon Parks and Rec: Vista House will be open 9-4:30 Friday, Saturday and Sunday unless its too icy or windy.

Citizen's Patrol: Friday they will be assisting at the Troutdale Tree Lighting starting at 4pm. The will be at Fairview from 4-6 and Corbett from 7-9.

Historical Society: The building is almost enclosed.

Friends of Sandy River Delta: Thank you MCSO, Forest Service Rangers and C.P. for working the illegal parking issues. Encouraged that the fee parking will start in January.

Forest Service: Been busy at Multnomah Falls. Sandy River Delta fee implementation will begin in January. The Columbia Area Transit has started operating which should help with parking and congestion. https://www.ridecatbus.org/
