Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Our final Eastside Community Meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 22 at the Columbia Grange, 37493 Grange Hall Road in Corbett. Since this is our last meeting, we will open the floor to any topic - so bring your questions and concerns! The comments so far deal with the need to protect our farm land for agricultural use. Wealthy outsiders move in to our area and build trophy homes, while local farms struggle to remain viable. Farmers often need to be creative in order to make a living - including setting up farm stands, farm-to-table events, making products rather than selling raw produce, giving tours and holding events in their historic home, offering room and board rather than a salary to farm workers, etc. Permits are expensive and time-consuming for minor upgrades. What can the County do to help local farmers continue to farm their land?

This is a community meeting held by local community members. If you have official questions or comments, please contact Rich Faith, Multnomah County Senior Planner and Project Leader, at rich.faith@multco.us or 503-988-3931.

The Comprehensive Plan Citizen Advisory Committee has only 3 more scheduled meeting dates:

- Comprehensive Plan Community Advisory Committee from 6:00 to 8:30 pm on October 28
- Comprehensive Plan Community Advisory Committee from 6:00 to 8:30 pm on December 2
All meetings are open to the public and in Room 126 of the Multnomah County Building, 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. in Portland.
