Multnomah County Emergency Management will be coming to Corbett, actually the Springdale Job Corps, to hold a community meeting to tell us about Natural Hazard Mitigation to get our input and ideas.  Natural hazards are Winter Storms, Wind, Landslides, Earthquakes, Floods, etc., things that happen with the help of mother nature.

The purpose of the meeting is to show us where, historically, these types of hazards have occurred and are likely to occur again.  They would like to get our input on area’s they may not know have had these issues and try and come up with solutions that can help lessen the impact and damage when they occur in the future.

There will be a raffle for door prizes and refreshments as well.

Please come and help the County help us.  The National Weather Service is saying it might be a very cold and rough winter this year so we need to be prepared and be informed.  We will have information and resources available that can help you and your family be prepared for a disaster.  Make sure you have the supplies necessary to get you through it.

The meeting is only a week away:

                Thursday, September 29th
                6:30 to 8:00
                Springdale Job Corps

So please forward this email to everyone you know and have them do the same.  Let’s get the word out in a hurry so that we will have a great turnout and see if we can tackle some of the issues we have out here.  Let’s keep it going!
